Preprint on cellular and molecular transitions during Merkel cell regeneration online!

Our manuscript from Ahlan Ferdous and colleagues investigating how Merkel cells regenerate is now posted on bioRxiv. We use singe-cell RNA-sequencing to identify novel molecular and cellular changes associated with how keratinocyte progenitors give rise to these specialized mechanosensory cells following skin injury in zebrafish. We also compare our data with mouse and human data to define a core, conserved gene expression signature of Merkel cells. Check it out!
